Indian economy is a developing economy because of heavy industrialization
the carbon emission is very high, so to over come the situation of growing
dependence of crude oil and growing emissions, steps are taken to increase
the use of Natural Gas which is cheaper and cleaner fuel in comparison to
any other fossil fuels. Because of increasing use of natural gas, instead
of other fossil fuels in some sectors the emission reduction of hazardous
gases is taken place and by this emission markets are created in this field.
The report talk about clean development mechanism (CDM) opportunities occurs
in different sectors due to the increasing use of natural gas in India. Information
are shown in such away to know the current situation of natural gas in power,
fertilizer and transportation sectors and type of emission projects available
for these sectors. The information has been shown in a very simple manner
and extensive use of tables and graphs has been done, to present any complex
data and figures, in order to make report comprehensive.
The report explains the scope of emission reduction through natural gas in India, starting with analysis of emission reduction in power sector through natural gas, fallowed by same type of analysis in fertilizer and transportation sector.
Gas industry is moving at a robustic rate. The gas is moving towards globalization and establishing its milestone in almost every sector and also the most emerging and growing emission sector is not left untouched from this gas sector. So in this emission sector also natural gas is used in the fuel switching oil and coal and generating CER which ultimately bring revenue along with climate mitigation. For giving a proper and deep insight of natural gas dominance on CDM projects I will be focusing on the three important sectors:-
1) Power sector
2) Fertilizer sector
3) Transportation sector
These are the most important sectors in which the natural gas is use currently and having the maximum emission projects. In comparison to crude oil products, natural gas makes less pollution in environment.
Of all the energy products, Liquefied Natural Gas is the most important and upcoming energy fuel as next best alternative to the crude oil, that is why I have undertaken a summer training project on the topic “scope of emission reduction through natural gas in India”, to find out the growing importance of the Natural Gas emission market in India. Indian economy is developing economy because of heavy industrialization the carbon emission is very high, so to over come the situation of growing dependence of crude oil and growing emissions can be substituted by the Natural Gas which is cheaper and cleaner fuel in comparison to any other energy product.
