is launching a fully automated and global auction platform for issued certified
Emission reduction(CER) or carbon credits. Auction will be on online platforms.
Buyers worldwide will submit their closed bids on line. Auction will be open
for an hour. The automated search engine will evaluate the bids and determine
the clearing prices. It will be uniform price auction, where each successful
bidder pays the same clearing price for the CER that are allocated to it.
The clearing prices are determined online at the close of the auction. India
has 42 million unsold credits and the prices rise as on August 5, 2008 range
